Hi Mandy,

TNX very much for your mail.

The 3 AS/400 systems are indeed on the same TRN LAN segment.
System number 3 is in fact from the company that does the shipping for us.
It's indeed a good point of you to ask if they haven't changed something on
their configuration.
There is also an NT on that tokenring.
The guys responsible for it have installed an additional Ethernet-card last week
( different segment ).
According to them, the NT is working fine. But one never knows with Windows.

The only reason for the TR-card in the PC is that we use it for IP-forwarding :
- The third AS/400 needs a connection to our office
  in the Netherlands (other network).
- That 400 doesn't have an external connection,
- we have only an Ethernet-port on the cisco,
- and yes the Netherlands are only using Tokenring.

I certainly going to try this tomorrow.

Frankly, I never pinged it !
I saw that the interface was active and that the programmers could use it.
The IP-interface for CMN06 needed to be stopped on the 400,
before I could vary off the TRN. It then varied off as well.
The cables are looking fine.

The TRN-ports on the other AS/400 are "normal" ones.
We didn't changed anything regarding the configuration or use of the *NWS.
No PTF's where applied recently.

Max, you certainly gave me some points worth looking at !

Your contributions is much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Chris
