Title: Technical Dev Conf or Common?

Were would my $1000 dollars best be spent?  We are a small shop, and my responsibilities cover the as/400 as a whole... rpg, websphere,  net.data, os installs, hardware, security, green screen apps....  my question is this... I have never been to the IBM dev conf, but I have been to common... I did enjoy my experience there (common) and would like to go back... but is the dev conference better?  the same, not as good...

any body, been to both and have some good insights...

p.s. I hope I don't start a war... I'm just looking for some good pro's and con's, if possible.

thanks, tim
