I appreciate the information sent in on this question but.......... I haven't had any problem getting the 156 byte spool file down to my PC, the problem is when it gets there, being able to print it without it wrapping. I realize when viewing this document via email, it remains in the original report format but if you try to send it to a printer, it has trouble condensing the print to fit on a single page as it was originally generated. IF you use Notepad or Wordpad to open the document, they don't allow you to print with a condensed mode. Changing the font or % doesn't help the wrapping issue. Changing to Landscape and Scaling to Fit the paper still doesn't change the actual printing in this case. I would be glad to send a sample of this document to someone offline from the mail list . thanks Jim Damato <jdamato@dollargene To: "'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com'" <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> ral.com> cc: Sent by: Subject: RE: Transferring Spool Files from AS400 owner-midrange-l@mi drange.com 06/21/01 06:32 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L > The other method was I used the CPYSPLF command and copied the spool file > to a 156 byte length data file and then use Client Access to copy to the > PC. > Basically, from here, the same results are gotten when attempting to print. I've had better luck with this stuff when I've used CPYSPLF to a data file and copied the data file to a folder using CPYTOPCD TRNFMT(*TEXT) or CPYTOSTMF ENDLINFMT(*CRLF). -Jim James Damato Manager - Technical Administration Dollar General Corporation <mailto:jdamato@dollargeneral.com> +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
