Njal makes a very good point here, but if you're hesitant to jump in, you can write your own synonym command so to speak. Call it say, WSPL. Call WSPL from all your menu-based programs instead of WRKSPLF. Have it do all the validation you need and then issue the proper IBM DLT/CHG commands. An interesting side-effect is that you can restrict authority to the genuine IBM commands and force _everybody_ through your in-house command(s).
