We are using one of these to connect an Epson DFX500+ using twinax. Now, we are using IO Corporation's 5450's to connect parallel printers to the network and connecting as AS/400 printers (the IO 5450's will create the DEV and Controller on the AS/400 when you set it up as long as you have autoconfigure devices turned on). http://www.iocorp.com/lancon/5450.htm Maybe one of these products will do what you want, we don't use hosttransform here, I don't think, so am not sure. HTH, Jim Langston TGIF Date: Fri, 8 Jun 2001 16:05:25 -0500 (CDT) From: Scott Klement <klemscot@klements.com> Subject: Twinax printer & TRANSFORM(*YES) I have an HP LaserJet 4L (uses PCL) that I'd like to attach to the AS/400 via a Twinax line. The printer does not accept JetDirect cards, and only has a parallel port. I'd like to be able to use Host Print Transform to convert things like fonts, barcodes, overlays, etc to the PCL language, and send it to the printer. I do NOT want to have to use a PC to act as an interface for the printer. I know there are many different twinax to parallel adapters out there. But will any of them allow me to do Host Print Transform? Has anyone had good experiences with a product that will meet my requirements?
