We recently purchased one to see about adding the ability to view scanned documents as part of our collections system. The interactive overhead on a 720 @ 4.4 /w 120cpw interactive made it prohibitive. Also I would need 7 on a twinax chain. Don't think it would be feasible. We are now looking for IP terminals with Graphics like the 3489. Any one know of such a beast? What about a thin client with only 5250 emulation and graphic image viewing? We want to control all from the AS400 if possible. Any POSITIVE suggestion welcomed. <snip> We did some work getting our fax product to display incoming faxes on a 3489 a long time ago. As far as i recall it would display tiff images. The interface was in c and was fairly flexible in where you could display the image, the zoom etc. Once on screen you could pan the image (using the mouse). All in all it worked fine as a green screen plus kind of thing. Problem was you're the first person I've heard of who admits to owning one. No one seemed interested in IBM's fantastic GUI breakthrough. </snip> +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
