No, We went to DPY on our 720. Our 400, (not AS400 but model 400 of the AS400), has DPY on the 8 drives in the expansion unit and the 2 internals are mirrored to each other. This was done because we can't DPY those drives on the load source controller. -----Original Message----- From: Neil Palmer [mailto:neilp@dpslink.com] Sent: Wednesday, June 20, 2001 9:56 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Load Source Mirroring with RAID-5 Does anyone still do this ? At one point on older hardware it was necessary when you couldn't have the load source drive in a RAID set, but with new systems does anyone still mirror the load source drive while using RAID-5 for the rest of the system ? If so, why did you decide to do this ? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
