I never saw one, so I don't know if it has the A/S button like the 5853 did, but if so they may want to press the button in if trying to use Sync mode. ...Neil Pat Barber <mboceanside@worldnet.att.net> Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 2001/06/04 10:15 Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: Modem Configuration IBM 5858 You sure about that model number ??? There is a 7858 but I find NO reference to a 5858... If it's really a 7858, it should respond exactly like the Multitech modem(IBM 7852). What exactly are you trying to do ??? > I got a IBM 5858 Modem which I tried to connect on my AS/400. > The modem has been attached to the AS/400, connected to > a direct analog line and configured as 25.bis. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
