from Al Mac I have seen some posts regarding how much gas a PC needs to function without performance problems with the latest Client Access to OS/400 & am interested in whether other folks agree with what Ops News says. When I showed the latest issue around the office, the reaction was that perhaps it would not be a good idea to upgrade our OS/400 because the amount of Meg needed for Ops Nav seems outrageous ... of course only a few people might need Ops Nav ie. myself eventually when they take me off twinax & the various power users who help less fortunate users - I call them system helpers, everyone else is moving to Client Access. > Subj: OpsNews - June 1, 2001 > From: asc@ASC-iSeries.com (Advanced Systems Concepts) > > For a graphical version of this newsletter, visit: > http://www.asc-iseries.com/opsnews.htm ================================================================ > OpsNews 06/01/01 > ----------------------------------------------------------------- > The latest news and tips for IBM's Operations > Navigator - from Chris Wilson at Advanced Systems Concepts. > > Check out the OpCenter systems management plug-ins for OpsNav at > http://www.asc-iSeries.com/products_ops.htm > > Welcome! The most I can reasonably expect management to pay for is a 64 Meg PC. In fact my boss says he has never heard of anyone having more than 128 Meg. Does this mean that as we move from CA on V4R3 to CAX on V5R1 the users are going to be screaming about loss of performance?
