My opinion is that this is dependent on the client operating system; If the
client os allow you to "connect using a different user name" - win nt4 and
win2k does - then it's no problem. Win95 does not have the ability to let
you change the logon user name.

Hello all,

I recently configured Netserver on one of our AS400. Very neet. But I have
one problem.

I created a subdirectory and I want to give access to to a user. I do not
want the user to have access to anything else. So I created a share but
when the user want to access it, he is ask for a password but not for a
user id. I foud out that the userId on his machine must match a user Id on
the AS/400. That is a problem because his network userId is more than 10
caracter long (it is the first letter of is first name plus his hole last
name).

Any suggestion on how to go around this?
