You're absolutely right ... and we've got most of it already, and we can ram that telling point home to a prospect and it's very effective ... But is IBM going to do anything about marketing this multi-personality low-maintenance high-resilience secure scaleable server *before* it reaches the state of perfection you describe? (I imagine those who were at COMMON knew this already.) I read into it some conflicting messages about IBM's attitude to iSeries Nation - end result is something along the lines of 'we know that iSeries has a band of very faithful followers, so here's a sop to them and some assistance to them in doing the marketing for us that we should be doing ourselves, but iSeries is not the brand, IBM eServer is'. (i.e. business as usual.) Wonderful doublethink. Mandy ------------------------- They would on the surface seem that way. Imagine a future where there was only one eServer. It could scale to any size. It would be virtually up all the time. It could run any "Personality" Linux, MVS, Win, *nix. Easy to administer, etc. Imagine that the OS that would be the controlling partition would be CPF..... er I mean OS/400? Hmmm.
