Ravi, If your business partner is using the same scripts with other partners, how do they avoid the same problem happening with those partners? You may have the authority to manipulate environment variables on the destination machine. It would still involve changing all of the scripts. One thing to consider is that it does neither you nor your business partner any good to exchange incomplete information. If this information is worth something to them, they ought to be willing to work with you and expend whatever effort is necessary to make the process work properly even if it is harder than it looked at first. You may have the authority to rename and/or copy files on the unix box. That looks like the first thing to investigate, although it still means changing all of your scripts--but none on the other side. > -----Original Message----- > From: Ravi Borra [mailto:ravi_borra@yahoo.com] > Sent: Thursday, May 17, 2001 1:36 PM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: RE: FTP Problem ! > > > I already tried using a little file as a kind of > acknowledgemnet or receipt of upload so that they i > can identify the finish & delete it every time .... > But my buss. partner is reluctent to use this > mechanism as they need to put lot of programming > efforts on their side & needs to change many common > FTP scripts.
