Pinch me. Are you serious? You can load/apply cume PTFs on one system and use management central to distribute those across all the others? Whoa. Well, we do have the current problem of having three different releases running on our RISC boxes, including four boxes running V3R7. Another problem with upgrading three of these V3R7 boxes is that we likely will drop down in the tier (processing group) when we eventually replace these machines. So we're not apt to spend the big dollars for a V5 upgrade for a tier P30 when we may likely drop to P20 or possibly even P10. Are the price differences significant enough to warrant waiting to see what hardware we eventually end up getting? (Whatever is said in Latin seems profound.) -------------------------- Original Message -------------------------- What version of OS/400 will you be running ?? I can think of no better solution to this than management central using CA Express. Provided you have the same LPP's etc. across your systems, you will only need to load them on one system, and then distribute them automagically, and have your systems IPL each night to apply them. This works, and works well. Really well.
