I'm not saying to not code for the condition, just not to allow it as an acceptable part of the application. Alt-leftarrow is every bit as much an error as turning off the screen - or ending the browser. OTOH, Alt-leftarrow is not a "miskey", any more than turning off the screen is an miskey. So the question is, what are you going to do when the user simply closes their browser window? I'll do the same thing when screens get out of sequence: log them off and start 'em over. That's acceptable, and is the limit of required "defensive programming". The back button is a HUGE red herring in HTML design. Joe P.S. Do you code in your programs a way so that if the user turns off their tube, they can just sign back in and be back where they were when they turned off the tube? If so, then by all means code for Alt-leftarrow. > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com > [mailto:owner-midrange-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of John Taylor > Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2001 3:38 PM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: Re: No 5250-based applications > > > Joe, > > I wish I had your well-trained users!
