Any attempt to place 150,000 jobs on a job queue would be a BAD idea.
There is significant overhead for a job (job structures, initialtion etc),
and although I don't know about any limit fo rnumber of jobs on a job
queue, the V4R5 limit for number of jobs on the system is 163,520.

According to the OS/400 Work Management manual:

How Many Jobs on a Job Queue: There is no set limit to the number of jobs
that can be on a job queue. It is limited only by how much work the
system can handle.

Thanks, IBM, for that clear answer. I suppose the only way to know the
limit is to actually try it. I'd hate to execute the WRKJOBQ command
against such a heavily populated job queue, though.

To mirrow someone else's curiosity, what kind of application requires this
many jobs? Can the application be rewritten to use one never-ending job
instead of 150,000 individual jobs?
