I think its important that I point out that Fran posted the solution she got
from CS earlier this week to the list.  Unfortunately, I never received the
message from the list and, I believe, at least several others did not, either.
 I did find Fran's post in the archives.  So, for the benefit of the entire
list, and to be fair to CS:

CS finally did do Fran right, and I personally thought she got a pretty good
deal in the end.  CS is sending her a newer version of Baby400 that does not
require the dongle.  Her only cost is to send the broken dongle back to CS.

I would like to think that the posts on MIDRANGE-L influenced CS to do the
right thing.  CS called me the other day (the downside of having my phone
number in my sig) to try to see what my angle was.  The rep seemed to be
frustrated that I had used the word "shoddy", but I explained to her that I
felt Fran was treated that way and if CS has changed their position, they are
more than welcome to subscribe to the list and tell their side of the story.
I haven't seen any activity from them yet.

I would like to point out that nobody here was trying to finagle (sp?) a
freebie out of CS.  I personally have no interest in the product and had no
vibes that anyone else responding to Fran's post was trying to strongarm CS
for their own benefit.  Fran herself said that she was willing to pay a
reasonable fee to replace the dongle.

So, Mark, what exactly was your experience?

  I have had a hugely negative experience with them, too.  And this was
even after being a long standing customer (10+ years)!  I could not
recommend them.
