-----Original Message----- getting rid off the server programs was not such a great idea. You just destroyed a reasonable partitioning. Keeping the server programs would have allowed you to do all kinds of useful stuff: automatic logging, replacing files with SQL or ODBC-calls and the like. Maybe, but it was a performance hit (especially on the machines at the times) and it was a nightmare to maintain. If you try to run an analysis to see where the file was being used, you ended up with one program - the server program. +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
