I assume you mean the manual methods like walking instead of riding,
swimming instead of using a boat.  If progress creates new methods then we
live with the new and abandon the old.
If I receive all of my orders via the telephone or the Internet then if the
telephone system is down or my computer is down I don't get orders.  That is
unacceptable.  Teach me a manual method for getting orders over the Internet
and don't tell me to open a corner store that people can access by walking.
They don't walk so I don't need a store.
