Have an expert come in and work with you and management. The person that said you can do it your self does not know much about routers and network design. Some question to expect: 1. Do you want to give access to Your ENTIRE network? 2. Do you want them to see all of your PC or just your Routers IP address? 3. Who is doing the other end of the connection? 4. What equipment are you using? And many more. Christopher K. We are going into our first WAN using frame relay with a remote site and I am told by some that I'm crazy for paying someone to configure the equipment. I was hoping for feedback from this group specifically from anyone who has done this, the types of problems they ran into, etc. My employer is willing to pay for the service, so am I crazy for wanting to play with this myself? The experience would be a great addition to my resume, not to mention being able to tell my boss that I saved the $2,000 to $3,000 the service companies want to configure things. Some of the equipment we'll be using: Cisco 1720 or 1750 routers, IBM 5394 or Perle controller, TCP/IP and ethernet on an NT network, NS/Elite emulation software. Any comments are appreciated.
