Here is what I added to the DSPF source:

A            MSGLINE      400   O 18  1MSGID(ZEN 9999 ZECUTL/ZENMSGF)
A                                      COLOR(WHT)

Then the message file is:

     Message identifier . . . . . .>     ZEN9999             Name
     Message file . . . . . . . . . .    >    ZENMSGF             Name
       Library  . . . . . . . . . . .    >    ZECUTL              Name,
*LIBL, *CURLIB
     First-level message text .    'ZEN9999'

     Second-level message text  . . .         '         Welcome to the
Zenith Sales, Distr
ibution, and Financial System.
         '

This uses the little trick that if the first level message text matches the
MSGID, the second level text is displayed instead.
