Buck, I don't wish to confuse you with your attempt at an FAQ site but I've just stumbled onto a site www.web400.com developed by a chap named Craig Pelkie which I think is worth a look. The interesting page is behind the label 'download' and as I say, is worth a look and a link. Some of the topics covered are: Net.Data RPG CGI programming Web Server & Development AS/400 TCP/IP Windows NT Server & AS/400 (MQ Series) As well as the content I thought the layout of the page was particularly informative. Hope you find it useful Norm ----- Original Message ----- From: "Buck Calabro" <buck.calabro@aptissoftware.com> To: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> Sent: Tuesday, 13 March 2001 2:43 Subject: RE: AS/400 FAQ | Hello all, | Please remember that this is very much a work in progress and I wanted to | get *something* up so that I could evaluate what it looks like in browser | form. It's nowhere near final. I am not a web page designer, nor do I | intend to become one. My basic intent: | Several independent sections, i.e. RPG, Security, Java, etc. | Summary at the top with links to the detail below. | Program code as separate text files for ease of downloading. | | What is there now is the merest beginning. I consciously modelled it after | the Perl FAQ, but I'm not a web guru, so it will probably always look | primitive. Please don't email me about how it looks until the FAQ starts to | fill out. I'm using a style sheet, so it should be fairly easy to fiddle | the appearance. | | As to Al's specific suggestions, I haven't got a full links page put | together yet, but I intend to. | | Buck | | > -----Original Message----- | > From: MacWheel99@aol.com | > Sent: Monday, March 12, 2001 12:21 PM | > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com | > Subject: Re: AS/400 FAQ | > | > I originally posted to Buck to avoid string of me toos to the list, but | > now I | > think other folks on the list ought to be told where this data is so that | > folks with better browsers than mine can get in & see what's there & make | > constructive suggestions. | > | > Thanks - I tried to visit & my AOL connection was real slow so I will try | > again later. | > | > There ought to be a section & in fact there may be one, with links or | > pointers to other efforts & resources, such as whatever Midrange dot com | > page | > is the place with the links to IBM manuals, major pages of AS/400 Network, | > | > Midrange Computing, IBM's Magazine on the 400, AS/400 Journal etc. | > | > All I got to see before AOL jammed up on me was | > 1.
