The SNDEMAIL source can be downloaded from AS400network.com. The problem it solves is reaching into IBM's API to send a message. it is "a command" to send MIME compatible mail. sounds ridiculous to send mail, considering how easy it is to do it on a PC. Your native choice in commands is SNDDST. figure out all the options on that first and you will be primed to make a good decision on products/ in house work. I looked at SNDEMAIL just last week. The Redbooks clear up a lot on why things are the way they are. I am doing the "in house" version of a solution. I have checked out net/400 and some others for shrink wrapped solutions. I don't have a clue how good any of the packages are. If you have volume....I would not do the in-house version... just an opinion. The good ones use their own SMTP server, and avoid the OS/400 version. Our messages are larger than the 1024 limit in sndemail, and I am sending real HTML messages as well as text (not attachments) and this is quite a trick to do using OS/400 out of the box. It took me a little research to get it going. markvilla@knology.net +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
