After I sent my post I saw your amended post. Is the subnet of your router also 255.255.255.0? I have recently learned that 10.x.x.x is a class A subnet. This is causing problems with routing here for some dumber devices. Also effects switching from one route to a secondary route if the primary fails. We are seriously looking at switching to 172.198.x.x IP addressing.
