You should look at TurnOver PDQ. http://www.softlanding.com/

With this product, you can reorganize a file while it is still being used,
so you do not have to worry about how long the process takes to complete.
The same product can be used when you want to install a change to a
database file.

Hope this helps,

We recently went through this with a file containing 152 million records,
of
which 107 million are deleted (neither number is a typo). We attempted to
reorganize the file using RGZPFM, but were forced to cancel the job after
three days.

So we ran an experiment using a CPYF to another library and then another
CPYF back to a copy of the original file with the three logical files
including the members. This process consumed only seven and a half hours.

In a few weeks, we intend to try this with the real thing.

We are running a dual processor model 640 at V4R1.

Hope that helps.

I've got a file with 40 million records, 10 million of which are deleted.
The
file is over 14 GB.
