We recently went through this with a file containing 152 million records, of which 107 million are deleted (neither number is a typo). We attempted to reorganize the file using RGZPFM, but were forced to cancel the job after three days. So we ran an experiment using a CPYF to another library and then another CPYF back to a copy of the original file with the three logical files including the members. This process consumed only seven and a half hours. In a few weeks, we intend to try this with the real thing. We are running a dual processor model 640 at V4R1. Hope that helps. Donald R.
