Hi Walden - >IBM does a reverse DNS whenever a client connects to the >server. Look in a QZDASOINIT joblog for CPIAD12 to see >what I mean ("Servicing user profile WEBUSER from client >pluto.techsoftwareinc.com.") > >Is there a way to disable this? This seems like a colossal >waste of time to do a reverse DNS for each connection. I >know it's my web server connecting and I want the connection >as fast as possible. Replacing the DNS name with the IP >would be fine. There is a PTF that corrects this ... SF60284 for V4R4 SF60283 for V4R3 This PTF disables the reverse DNS lookup. If you decide that you want the reverse DNS, you can create a data area that will reactivate it without having to remove the PTF. The PTF cover letter explains about it.
