IIRC, the problem with daisy chaining with baluns and twisted pair is that a balun is a transformer, and each balun takes a little bit of power from the signal. Since the devices are just tapped across the twinax jacks in parallel (there's no signal regeneration), the number of baluns on a single link makes a big difference. As someone said, they've been successful with daisy chaining baluns in a lab situation. We always had mixed results in that situation, so we ended up with several 6 and 10 foot genuine twinax cables to wire conference rooms and such. --Paul E Musselman PaulMmn@ix.netcom.nospam.com >>It's been a long time since I had to deal with this, so if someone can tell >>me what I am doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it. >> >>Configuration >> >>DSP01-----Twinax cable-----PRT01--Balun--network >>cable--Balun--DSP02--Balun--network cable--Balun--DSP03 >> >>What happens is that DSP03 gets a signon but DSP02 does not, it stays Vary >>On Pending...
