don't know if you already got an answer. 5294 & 5494 are diff in the versions of the sna pu level, and diff ru packet sizes (got that from the '94 version of the AS/400 Handbook). Even so, the various IBM 5250 devices worked on both. I can remember several times non-IBM vendors had chip ugrades to get them to work as the faster remote equip came out. Have you tried the 5494 in "5294 mode"? Just to see if that works (at 19.2). Is this a true IBM 5494? Which model? Model 1 & 2 had some differences. hth - jim ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steven McDonald" <mcdonald_sb@willis.com> To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 13, 2001 10:18 AM Subject: ACOM LINK/400 > I have a remote site that was on a 19.2 line using a 5294 controller for > printing (Printers are HP 8100 Series) using the ACOM LINK/400 Controller > for Twinax to Parrell connection. > > I switched to a 64 K line and a 5494 controller and the print in not > working correctly.
