Last week I posted inquiring as to the availability of PGP for the AS400. <snip> 1. Encrypt the file on the AS400 and send it using FTP. I see that PKZIP for the AS400 supports encryption. I, personally, wouldn't bother using the encryption that comes with PKZIP - there are crack programs around that can decode the password and it doesnt do any *serious* encrypting. I have used many encrypt programs for m$-W9x there are some that are (pardon me) weedy and some are good n' strong (all for free too!). I have a few I use myself (even down to one that encypts *and* sends the decoder program with the encrypted file <but not the passphrase obviously>) and all do a slightly different job. If you need my list please say and I will send it you (or the group). So in concluding; my recomendation would be get a good'un that runs under m$-W9x then use, say, CA/400 to move it about on your AS400 box.
