Actually it's not true. See the following article "Hacking continues to plague Microsoft". Can't hack an AS/400. http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/abc/20010126/ts/hacking_continues_to_plague_mic rosoft_1.html Kalman Shor -----Original Message----- From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-midrange-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Phil Gregory Sent: Friday, January 26, 2001 4:49 PM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: someone is not being straight. The unreachability was a result of a completely separate system (MS' DNS records) failing. Turn the situation around. If you ran a web site on an AS/400 (erm, iSeries) and your ISP ran into problems of some sort, rendering the machine unreachable, would that count against the 400's up/downtime? I'm all for complaining about MS' OSes when they deserve it, but this appears to have been the fault of someone typing in incorrect DNS information and could have happened to any company, regardless of what OS/platform they use. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
