Others may can provide help, but I think that the AS/400 can be a mail
server.  

I had an IBM class in Atlanta talking about TCP/IP and I recall a section
where you can 
configure the AS/400 as a mail server.

i've tried several times but have not been able to get gumbo's spoolmail
to work.  we don't have a mail server and when it tries to send the mail
it halts.  do you need to have a mail server or can the as/400 do that?

we have some clients were are testing this for and one of these days i
need to get it resolved!
