Chuck Do they have a back-up configuration diskette ? Get them to try that - but make a copy of it before hand.... If you have a hunt through the manual (as I recall Perle used to shove a little handbook one in a slot on the front of the controller) you may be able to locate the numbers below in the diagnostics section. The other Perle manuals (i think there are ususally about 4) may also provide some info on the diagnostics. I've seen that 00124 number before, but can't remember what it means. One thing I did see on a Perle was where there was a weird kind of internal wiring system and if one of the devices wasn't terminated correctly then the controller wouldn't work.... go figure :) Hope this helps Cheers Evan Harris >Got a "strange" one. We have a Perle 494 Control Unit with the Ethernet >card in it running TCP/IP over frame back to our AS/400 (using this at 8 >remote locations). Was working FINE until about 2 hours ago. It has a >error message of >351 || 00124. > >They have tried rebooting the thing multiple times. It reads the >diskette and then does it's usual fumbling around and eventually >displays this message. > >I can ping the router fine (Cisco). >I can ping a UPS fine (APC UPS with SNMP Web card in it - really slick >!) >I have one PC that is attached via TCP/IP and IT is fine (running >Synapse software). > >I've got a message into Perle but have been waiting for SOME time now. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
