Then apply SF64458 *IMMED using the following commands. APYPTF LICPGM(5769BR1) SELECT(SF64458) DELAYED(*YES) IPLAPY(*NO) APYPTF LICPGM(5769BR1) SELECT(SF64458) DELAYED(*NO) Once again, make sure there is no BRMS activity on the system or any system in the BRMS network. Sign off and on again after appling the PTF. (NOTE: if SF64458 is not been applied, the SRC code SRC9002967 is a normal IPL step to apply PTFs. If the processor is active allow the IPL to continue) PROBLEM SUMMARY: ************************************************************** * PROBLEM: (SA91693) Licensed Program = 5769BR1 * * Incorrect Output * ************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All OS/400 Backup Recovery and Media * * Services (BRMS/400) users. * ************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply PTF SF64789 for R440/450. * ************************************************************** After loading SF64458, backups start issuing the following messages: MSGCPC3701 - 103 objects were saved on volumes 501954 seq 3 etc. MSGBRM1483 - volume 500240 cannot be used. The PTF's for APAR SA78215 are defective and can result in the system hanging at IPL step C900 2967 (SRCC9002967). The status SRC C900 2967 is indicative of PTF activity and can be displayed for some time during normal PTF processing. However, in this case there will be no processor activity (ie no flashing lights) while this SRC is displayed. This is due to the system waiting on a message to which the user cannot respond. The only way to confirm this is the problem is for the service representative to view the SCPF job log during the failure. If the message CPA4067 Save file QOHEURO2 already contains data is in the SCPF job log, then this is the problem. If this problem occurs, the only recovery is to power down the system and re-install all of OS/400 and all SS1 options. Then re-install the cum tape omitting the defective PTF or loading the fixing PTF which supersedes the defective PTF. The user should not simply re-install the cum tape. The system has been compromised by cancelling out of the PTF process and unpredictable results can occur. You must reload XPF and the associated SS1 options. This failure occurs when installing the PTF for APAR SA78215 on a system where the PTF for SA78215 had already been applied. eg The user had installed a Beta version of V4R4 along with PTF SF55268. When reinstalling the GA version of V4R4 and the latest cum which contains SF55268 the system will hang. Or the user is simply re-intalling GA V4R4 over GA V4R4. Or the user installed PTF SF55267 at V4R3 and then upgraded to V4R4. When installing the V4R4 PTF SF55268, the system hangs. The failure occurs because the savf QOHEURO2 still has data from the previous time the PTF was installed. This causes the system to halt with MSGCPA4067 - Save file already contains data. Additional keywords: MSGCPA4067 Save File QOHEURO2 Already Contains Data LOCAL FIX: PROBLEM SUMMARY: The Euro Currency symbol is a new symbol used in Europe used for EuroCurrency (the new, common currency for the European Monetary Union). This symbol needs to be supported in AS/400. When installing the PTF for EURO support over a system that's migrated from an earlier release, with the equivalent PTF on the earlier release an error occurs stopping the cum package installation. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: Apply This PTF for EURO support instead of one of the following: VRM320 SF55016 VRM410 SF55205 VRM420 SF55265 VRM430 SF55267 VRM440 SF55268 TEMPORARY FIX: COMMENTS: MODULES/MACROS: QA6YX500 QA6ZX500 QA61X500 QA62X500 QA63X500 QA64X500 QA65X500 QA66X500 QA67X500 QA68X500 QOHEURO1 QPZ1OH02 Q500XA6Y Q500XA6Z Q500XA61 Q500XA62 Q500XA63 Q500XA64 Q500XA65 Q500XA66 Q500XA67 Q500XA68 SRLS: NONE RTN CODES: CIRCUMVENTION: If a customer IPL hangs for a delayed apply of a PTF that this fix supersedes, the following steps are required for recovery. 1. Power off the system. 2. Reslip the operating system to repair resulting damage to the MPTFI. 3. Run the folowing command: RNMOBJ OBJ(QUSRSYS/QOHEURO2) OBJTYPE(*FILE) NEWOBJ(QOHEURO3) 4. The PTF can then be safely applied. The cum went on first with it's separate IPL & now all the "other" ptf's are being applied. When the instructions say "During the IPL, C9002967 could be displayed for an extended amount of time. This is normal (assuming the processor light flashes periodically)." , the instructions are not kidding. I know I have never waited this long (158.6 minutes & counting) & yes, the processor light is flashing periodically. The IPL step is displaying "PTF apply". Is there a manual that tells me what the panel codes mean? I do not think the reference code detail (C900 2967 20 51 0060) has changed since this step has started & is this okay? It's 5:35 & I said I would only "be a while". That "be a while" has now turned into almost 3 hours & I need to get out of here. Dennis Munro "I love deadlines.
