Nathan,

We also had a requirement to FTP fixed length files. Here is what we found
works.

Start FTP from a command line 

FTP '10.10.X.XX'    (Where ever you are FTP'ing to)
User: anonymous
PWD: (your name)

Locsite trim 0       (This is only on the AS/400. It forces the sending of
any trailing blanks)

Put  libname/filename.member  pcfilename.txt

quit
