Many, many moons ago (when I was young and impressionable) I did a few of
the ATS (Automated Training Systems) courses. This was back in the days of
the S/38. I did 5 in all : Guide to Operations, CL Programming, Interactive
RPG Programming, Batch RPG Programming, and Subfile programming.
These courses were simply a series of tapes (about 24 per course) and a
manual, very simple, and excellent. If ATS are as good now as they were then
I would recommend them, especially as you can learn at your own pace.
ATS's current offering of AS/400 related courses can be found at :
http://www.as400network.com/store/str/ats/regform.cfm

Hope this helps.

I am new to the AS400 world, previously coming from an IBM VSE environment.
Can anyone recommend any educational resources available to me as a "newbie"
to the AS400? Where do I start? I have found and am pursuing the classes
available through IBM, but was wondering if anyone is familiar with other
options which may be better or more convenient, like CBT or internet types
of classes, or any experiences with the IBM classes - how helpful are they?.
Thanks.
