Knowing how hard it is to get this information when your program is actually
running under Win95/98, I would be surprised if you can get it on the
AS/400.

Under WinNT/2K, this is very easy to get. But under Win95/98, it is not
available in the 32bit world...you have to drop into 16bit mode (which
sucks).

I'd love to find out I'm wrong.

BTW, I haven't actually tried to get the computer name...that is probably
available via the registry. But the domain/workgroup name? Nope.

Regards,
Bob Crothers

Subject: HELP!!! need to get windows Computer name, workgroup via AS/400.

Can I get the PC computer name, and workgroup it is in, from the
AS/400?

I am able to get an IP address for a device description, but if I
could get more info about the PC it would help me greatly.

Thank you.
