Bob, Gerald, Windows 95/98 provide an API called "GetComputerName" that will give you the NetBIOS name of the computer. It's very simple to code to, and is documented in the MSDN library. I've never needed to fetch the workgroup/domain name, so I don't have an API for you, but you should be able to easily find the location of this information by searching the registry. The original question asked if it was possible to get this data from the AS/400. Since you have the IP address, you should be able to do a reverse DNS lookup for the host name of the PC, but I don't know of any way that you could get the workgroup/domain name directly from an AS400 program.
