Many ways to do this. The "print key" usually generates a QSYSPRT file, if the
green screen device description was created with the default value for the
PRTFILE (Printer file). You can issue an OVRPRTF for QSYSPRT and use the OUTQ
parameter to enter the OUTQ attached to the printer you want to use.

Or, change the Printer File in device description to something other than
QSYSPRT, i.e. MYPRINTER, and create the print file MYPRINTER with an OUTQ name
that is attached to the printer you want to use.

Or, you could use the CHGJOB command to change the default OUTQ used by the
job.

Or, you could change the default OUTQ and Printer Device in the user's profile.

Or, change the Print Device/OUTQ values in the device (terminal) description.

Depending on how your users' initial logon programs are written, one of the
above methods should work, just try testing a few.

HTH,
Glenn

Subject: Print Key Printer

I am relatively new to the AS/400 and can't figure out how to get "Print
Key" printouts from green-screen terminals to print to a designated printer
(not the system printer). Can anybody help?

TIA
