I thought the latest announcement of the direction du jour was that Java 
was NOT the solution for all problems, but rather IBM was taking a more, 
um, egalitarian stance. Actually it was rumored that there was some kind of 
snit between IBM and Sun Microsystems, but I don't know anything about 
that. Anyway, the inference was that users of languages other than Java no 
longer needed to worry about being squashed like the inconsequential and 
unworthy bugs that they had previously been.

I haven't tried the OLEDB provider for about a year, but I must agree that 
(at least then), it was a mess. Has anyone given it a go lately?
