Can you presort your data into what will go onto what spool file? If so,
use only one spool file and user control (open) it. You then close / open
the file every time the key changes. You cannot have more than 8 spool
files defined in RPG. Period!

Subject: Max 8 prtf's in a RPG pgm ?

Hi there,

Apparently there is a limit of 8 printer files allowed in a RPG program. I
have a program that needs to use 9 (possibly more). Any ideas on how to
achieve this (other than duplicating and splitting the process into 2
programs).

TIA.

Kevin Corcoran.
