We used to have strange problems, but they have been largely cleared up. I assume this is the case because they have not complained to me about this in eons. Areas tackled, with massive assistance from IBM tech support, which included a delegation to our site from IBM Printer services out of Boulder, included: We are using both OS/400 & M/36, while some printers designed for 400 are not 36-friendly & needed micro-code patches to avoid 36 indigestion, and of course the hassle of what hardware resources belong to which operating system. Default settings that called for Letter Quality when we just wanted a report that would be scrapped in a couple days. Print Files needing to default to which tractor ... ie. 100% explicitness for all PRTF in all libraries & there was an IBM command to reset defaults so that future additions would come out right. Because M/36 did not recognize native printer, we have to emulate some other printer, which does not have all features we are using. This M/36 problem went away when our IBM Business Partner representative got our AS/36 config to send all M/36 reports to an OS/400 spool file. Hey, if you are in our area & select the same Business Partner ... KSAI < ksainc.com > ... ask for Dan Koch to help yout out ... he is a former IBM CE and also former IBM SE ... a wonderful combination. Unfortunately "I've Been Moved" (IBM) has taken away our CE who intimately knew all the particulars of our printer resolution at the Lawrenceville remote site.
