Yes! It's true. We were able to save significant money by consolidating our
Notes onto an AS/400 LPAR. We haven't gone down for any reason other than
upgrades or PTF's. IBM puts out a great interactive Notes backup solution.
Our Notes Admin is thanking me on a regular basis for making this move.
Microsoft has never been able to touch an AS/400 in reliability. Scaleable
bah! If they continue to limit themselves to running on a PC, they will
never match the scalability of the AS/400. These so called servers are
glorified PC's running an operating system that is meant to run games and
home applications. Intel and Microsoft are great at marketing their
inferior products, but don't get confused, they are still inferior.

...... One of the largest facility services contractors in the United
States, San Francisco-based ABM Industries, used Lotus Domino for
AS/400 to replace 45 Windows NT-based Domino servers with one AS/400.
In addition to saving several million dollars in PC upgrades, the
project provided ABM's 2,500 users with a more stable environment for
 messaging and application services.............
