Apparently, this is another case where AFPDS spoolfiles are not handled with this program. I tried it on SCS printfiles and it works like a charm. Are there any tools or code that will take an AFPDS spoolfile and write it to the IFS? I know of the commercial products that will do this, however, I was trying to find a very cheap way of doing this. It is one of those cases where it would be good to have, but not a need to have. Also, I know that you can always override the device type to *SCS and rerun the application. However, not all applications are meant to be rerun and you also lose a lot of the "features" of an AFPDS spoolfile. Any feedback would be appreciated. (Also, thanks for the help, Buck.) -----Original Message----- From: Pete Hall [mailto:pbhall@execpc.com] Sent: Wednesday, July 26, 2000 10:00 PM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: RE: pdf files At 13:48 07/26/2000 , James Salter wrote: >I have installed the CPYSPLFPDF program, however I can't get it do create a >file in the IFS directory. > >Here is the joblog (with the job details covered up a little): > > > CPYSPLFPDF FILE(POPFILE) TOIFSFILE('/QDLS/PDF/POPFILE.PDF') >JOB(123456/USERNAM/CPYJOB) SPLNBR(1) > > Member STDOUT file STDOUT in QTEMP cleared. > >I don't see any error messages, yet the "POPFILE.PDF" is not created. Run it interactively and then DSPJOBLOG. There should be something in there that will give you a hint. If that doesn't help, send Joe Pluta a message. He's a bit of a Java evangelist, and seems always willing to help. I'm using it to produce files in the root file system, but I don't believe that should matter.
