If your running v4.2 or above setup PPP on the AS/400 and your ECS modem.

Then setup Windows Dial Up Networking on your home PC to dial the ECS modem
number (just like dialling your home ISP) and you'll have an IP connection
that you can run Client Access or any other IP based terminal emulator.

No special hardware of software required - just your AS/400, ECS Modem,
Windows PC & Modem.

Works a treat, I use it all the time and have set it up for loads of
AS/400s.
