It's a CHGAUT command. For the object, you give it the path name to the object and a user profile and the data authorities (Read, Write, eXecute) As for "default", if you use the QOpenSys file system (unix flavor, including case sensitivity) I have found that once you establish authority at some directory level, that the authority for anything you create under that directory defaults to the same authority as the parent directory. Of course, this could be a side effect of OpsNav, as that is what I use to drag and drop my files onto the IFS. =========================================================== R.
