AS/400 Back to Back connectivity

Hi 

We have 2 AS/400 machines which has to be connected Back to Back.
1. Machine 1 --> IBM AS/400 Model 730 running V4R4
2. Machine 2 --> IBM AS/400 Model F60 running V3R4

Could you please suggest the best of connecting these machine to reap
the benefits of both.

a) We have a finance application running on Model 730 and in offline
data is also entered into the F60. As a day end process, we move data
from F60 into 730.
b) As a backup plan we would like to maintain few files on F60 regularly
downloaded from 730 (day end). This should help us in keeping things
alive when 730 is down.
c) The size of the data being moved around the machines will be approx.
400-500 MB a day (worst scenario).

Any help on this will help us in enhancing the current scenario.
