He stated he is getting 177KB/Sec (177 * 1024 * 8 = 1449984 bits; 1,449,984/10000 = 144.9984%) Something looks wrong to me. But (177 * 1024 = 181248 bits; 181,248/10000 = 18.1248%) is still note great. This formula also does not take into account other traffic on the hub or overhead bits added to each Ethernet frame. (about 56 bits per frame? Destination IP address & port # are 6 bytes or 48 bits alone.) Christopher K. If 177KB means bytes per second, then you are currently using about 14 percent of the circuit capacity (177 * 8 = 1416; 1416/10000 = 0.14). If you can get to about 50 percent, I think you are doing fine. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
