There was reputed to be a version of OS/400 that allowed the AS/400 to act
as an ODBC client - not a server, a client. If you can find that, then you
can use the 400 to connect to a client machine containing the .mdb using
ODBC.

If you put the .mdb into the IFS, what application on your AS/400 knows how
to read an mdb? Nothing that I know of.

Subject: SQL Question...

I'm trying to read a microsoft Access Database... And I was wondering if I
can do it from the AS/400 via SQL?

So my question is this, if I place the access database on the IFS, can I run
SQL on the as/400 and read the database? And if so, how would I point to
it?

TIA, tim
