There are some forums out there that may help with our education about what
the general issues are.

I just joined e-commerce-list & so far have been impressed. The first topics
were technical details & alternatives on increasing traffic to a web site,
and some small rants on e-taxes. You can sign up for free at:

I have been intermittently at the forums of

http://www.techrepublic.com/index.jhtml

and I do find the occasional AS/400 vs. NT & other relevant topics there,
although the way stuff is organized it could use a better search engine to
drill down to the debates that most interest me. This place is sponsored by
the Gartner Group ... you can subscribe to various e-newsletters that
announce a new debate each week & I won one of their T-shirts in a debate
about e-ERP security ... obviously the place needs people a bit more
knowlegeable than me on some of these topics.

I have not written any such application & I know I am ignorant of the issues
involved.
