I company has gotten in touch with me with a pretty neat sounding proposal, they asked to remain nameless for a short while until they have the infrastructure in place to deal with the expected traffic. In short the deal is this; the company makes a case tool of sorts which developers use via a browser interface to develop AS/400 applications. They are offering this tool free to a limited number of developers in the hopes that this will both generate interest in their tool and give something to the AS/400 community. The propose that the tool be used to build an ERP or some other product around their base code which will be made available as GPL software. There will be a comparatively nominal fee for the runtime environment which is needed in order for the end user to run the apps. I am leaving out a bunch of details but only because I was asked to, they want to sort of test the water and maybe iron out any issues. If you are interested in something like this, ask me I will give as much other info as I can without causing them any problems. And please don't flame me for not revealing their name. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
